Personality Disorders are ongoing chronic maladaptive ways of interacting with the environment, and involve distinct styles of cognition, emotionality, and personal integration. Borderline Personality is possibly the most difficult to treat in therapy, given the chronic issues with abandonment, and emotional volatility. Some therapist dislike working with this particular client because it can be emotionally taxing, and there often is some parasuicidal events. Many clients also come in with avoidant or dependent features.
